  The numbers aren't random. All the robot masters have serial numbers based on their affiliation and number they are in order of construction. DRN- Dr Right Number; DWN- Dr Wily Number; DCN- Dr Cossack Number; RKN- Rockman Killer Number; MWN- Mega World Number; KGN- King Guard Number (or something like that was what it stood for); SRN- Space Ruler Number; etc Quint, SunGod, and a couple others have no numbers for various reasons in their backstory.
